End User License Agreement (EULA)

This End User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is between you and ParrotDev, operating the ParrotJS extension and related services (“we”, “us”, “ParrotDev”), and governs your use of the ParrotJS Visual Studio Code extension and related documentation (the “Software”). By installing or using the Software, you accept this Agreement. If you do not accept it, do not install or use the Software.

1. License Grant

Subject to the terms of this Agreement, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on the number of machines permitted by your license tier:

  • Free tier: use of the free features on any number of machines, without time limit, at no charge.
  • PRO Trial: a 30-day trial of all PRO features, at no charge. The trial is limited to one per machine and expires automatically at the end of the trial period.
  • PRO License: a perpetual right to use eligible PRO versions — your right to use them does not expire — as described in the License Policy. A PRO purchase includes one full year of updates from the date you buy your license. A PRO license is for use on one machine at a time; you can deactivate it on one machine to activate it on another.

The grant above is subject to termination in accordance with Section 9.

2. Restrictions

You may not:

  • Copy, resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or distribute the Software or any license key;
  • Circumvent or attempt to defeat the license validation mechanism, or redistribute non-public parts of the Software;
  • Activate a trial more than once on the same machine, or use a PRO license key beyond its permitted machine limit;
  • Use the Software for any unlawful purpose.

3. Licensing, Validation, and Data

The Software runs entirely locally — your source code is never transmitted anywhere. For trial and PRO licenses, the Software stores licensing identifiers locally and contacts our license server (hosted by Lemon Squeezy) approximately once per day to revalidate; temporary network failures do not immediately invalidate an activated license. 4. Payment Processing

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy handles payment collection, invoicing, applicable taxes (including EU VAT), refunds, and chargebacks. We never see or store your full payment card details.

5. Intellectual Property

The Software is licensed, not sold. We retain all right, title, and interest in the Software, including all copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights.

6. Warranty Disclaimer

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall ParrotDev be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you actually paid for the Software giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including statutory rights of consumers).

8. Consumer Withdrawal Rights

If you purchase through our checkout operated by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy’s Buyer Terms apply to the sale and describe when a right of withdrawal applies and when it lapses for digital content delivered immediately. Nothing in this Agreement limits mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.

9. Termination

This Agreement remains in effect until terminated. Your PRO license terminates automatically if you materially breach this Agreement (for example, by sharing license keys or attempting to circumvent license validation). Upon termination you must stop using the Software and uninstall it. Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, and any provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination.

10. Changes

We may update this Agreement for new versions of the Software. Material changes take effect when you install an updated version after being notified; continued use after that constitutes acceptance. Changes do not retroactively remove rights already granted for versions you are licensed to use, except where required by applicable law.

11. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protection rights in your country of residence remain unaffected.
