ParrotJS PRO is sold as a perpetual license. You pay once — there is no subscription, no recurring charge, and your right to use eligible PRO versions never expires. See the current price on the Pricing page.

The Licensing Model

ParrotJS has three licensing states:

  1. Free — free forever, no account or license key required.
  2. 30-day PRO Trial — one trial per machine, no payment required, expiring automatically at the end of the 30 days.
  3. PRO License — a one-time purchase giving you a perpetual right to use eligible PRO versions.

What “Perpetual” Means

  • Your PRO license is a permanent right to use eligible PRO versions — it does not expire merely because your update entitlement ends, and it is never downgraded or time-limited. Your license remains subject to the EULA, including its termination provisions.
  • One payment covers use on one machine at a time: deactivate on your old machine to activate on a new one.
  • Your right is perpetual. We can’t promise any software will run forever on future hardware and operating systems — what’s guaranteed is that your entitlement to eligible versions isn’t taken away by time alone.

Updates Included: 1 Full Year

Every PRO purchase includes one full year of updates, counted from the date you buy your license:

  • A version is covered (an “eligible version”) if its release date falls within your update entitlement period — the one-year period beginning on your purchase date.
  • During that window, all new features, performance improvements, and bug fixes are free for you. When a new version ships, just update the extension — your existing license key keeps working.

After the Update Year

After your first year, two things happen — and importantly, nothing bad:

  1. Your entitlement doesn’t change. Every eligible version remains licensed to you indefinitely, subject to the EULA and technical compatibility.
  2. Newer releases become optional. Versions released after your update entitlement period aren’t covered by the original purchase. To cover new releases, purchase again — this grants a new license key with its own fresh one-year update entitlement.

In other words: paying again is only ever about getting new versions, never about keeping access to what you already own.

Staying Licensed

PRO licenses revalidate approximately once per day over the internet. If you’re offline — or our server can’t be reached — nothing happens immediately: your activated license keeps working from locally stored state.
